The ESDL Team

The ESDL team comprises the two core members Brockmann Consult GmbH (BC) and the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (MPI BGC) and a group of Champion users. BC and MPI BGC have been successfully collaborating in the precursor ESA project of ESDC, the Coupled Atmosphere-Biosphere Virtual Laboratory (CAB-LAB), in which the Earth System Data Cube has been developed and validated. While BC brings in its expertise in processing of big EO data, software development, and project management, MPI BGC contributes scientific excellence in Earth Sciences and an ample network among the scientific community. The project team is completed by four Champion users, whose use cases will be implemented in the course of the project. These Champion use cases act as demonstration cases, but also define the requirements according to which the ESDL will evolve.
